Viewing keys

Read-only access to a scope and a date range, issued by you, revocable at any time, and able to expire on its own.

Status: pre-launch. Noirpay is being built. This page describes the design as specified in the whitepaper; nothing on it is live on Robinhood Chain yet, and details can change before launch. See What's live today.

A viewing key is how you show someone the inside of your account without handing over the account.

Properties

PropertyDetail
Read-onlyCan decrypt notes and memos in scope; cannot spend or issue keys
ScopedTo an account, a vault, or a category (payroll, card, invoices)
Time-boxedCovers a date range you set, past or ongoing
ExpiringOptional expiry after which the key revokes itself
RevocableRevoke at any time; the holder's access ends
Issued by youOnly the spending key can issue one. Noirpay holds no master key

Programmable expiry

Set an expiry and the key auto-revokes. An audit key for a 60-day audit window disappears on day 61 without anyone remembering to revoke it. No key lives forever unless you choose that.

Tax and accounting export

CSV or PDF, generated locally from a viewing key: transactions, memos, cost basis, dividends. Nothing leaves your machine unless you send the file. An accountant with a key can generate it themselves.

Audit trail

You can see every key you have issued, what it covers, and when it was used. Revoking is one tap.
