Whitepaper

The Noirpay whitepaper, rendered from the canonical whitepaper.md.

  • Ticker: $NOIR
  • Domain: noirpay.app
  • Chain: Robinhood Chain

Short description

A self-custodial privacy neobank on Robinhood Chain where your stablecoins and tokenized stocks stay invisible on-chain, and still earn yield, still spend on a card, still pass compliance.

USP

Private money that still works. Every other privacy tool turns your funds into dead capital the moment you hide them. Noirpay's shielded balance keeps earning around 7%, spends on a Visa card, and can prove itself to a bank or auditor with a revocable viewing key.

Private transfers already exist on Robinhood Chain. A private account does not.

Description

Noirpay is an account, not a mixer. You open it like a neobank with a handle, balance, card and statements, and everything underneath is a note-based shielded pool secured by zero-knowledge proofs.

Funds enter through licensed ramps or a bridge, get screened at the edge, and land as encrypted notes tied to your own spending key. From there the account behaves like a normal bank account. Balances accrue yield, payments go out to stealth addresses, the card settles from shielded balance, and you can hand a scoped, time-boxed viewing key to your accountant or a lender whenever you need to prove something.

This matters most on Robinhood Chain specifically. RHC is the only network where payroll-grade stablecoin and tokenized equities sit in the same address, so a public wallet there leaks what you earn, what you own, and what you're worth, all at once. The chain holds around 830M USD in stablecoins and 750M USD TVL across 41 DEXs and 30 launchpads. Saturated on trading, empty on banking.

The company-side product is where revenue compounds. A business funds one shielded treasury and pays its entire contractor roster in a single batch. No employee sees another's pay, and no competitor reads headcount, burn rate or runway off a block explorer. Companies pay a seat fee for that from day one, before the token matters.

Compliance is built in, not bolted on. Sanctions screening on entry and exit, association-set proofs so clean users can show they aren't in a tainted pool, and expiring disclosure keys for auditors. That is the difference between a product card issuers will underwrite and one they won't.

Positioning is global. $NOIR launches as a plain ERC-20 via Uniswap on RHC. No staking, no emissions. Tiers, fee discounts and revenue-funded buybacks only.

Utility list

  1. Private yield routing that pools shielded deposits into Robinhood Chain yield venues and pays returns pro-rata per note, so hiding your balance costs you nothing.
  2. Shielded payroll batches that pay hundreds of employees or contractors from one private treasury in a single transaction.
  3. Scoped viewing keys granting read-only access for a specific date range to an accountant, auditor or lender, revocable at any time.
  4. Programmable disclosure expiry so a viewing key auto-revokes after a set period instead of living forever.
  5. Zero-knowledge proof-of-funds attestations that prove balance above X or held this position N months without revealing the account.
  6. Private card spend with Visa or Mastercard settling directly from shielded balance, with Apple Pay and Google Pay support.
  7. Shielded account with encrypted note balances for USDG and tokenized stocks, hiding holdings, position sizes and cost basis.
  8. Collateral attestation that lets a lending protocol accept a proof of shielded holdings instead of a visible wallet balance.
  9. Corporate-action handling for tokenized stocks, with dividends and splits credited to shielded holders without revealing who holds what.
  10. Edge compliance screening on every shield and unshield, plus association-set proofs demonstrating pool hygiene.
  11. Role-based treasury policies with spending caps, approval thresholds and team seats for finance staff.
  12. Shielded treasury multi-sig with co-signers, for companies that can't put funds behind a single key.
  13. Business API with webhooks for automated payouts, reconciliation and invoice status.
  14. Merchant checkout SDK so a business can accept private payments without building ZK plumbing.
  15. Anonymous invoicing for freelancers, sending an invoice link that auto-shields the incoming payment on arrival.
  16. Stealth payment handles that mint a fresh receiving address per payment, so a shared handle can't be used to scrape your balance.
  17. Private recurring payments for rent, retainers and subscriptions that avoid publishing a repeating on-chain pattern.
  18. Private DCA into tokenized stocks on a schedule, with each buy settling into a fresh note.
  19. Shielded escrow where amount and counterparty stay hidden until release, for OTC blocks and freelance milestones.
  20. Time-decorrelated withdrawals that schedule and split exits so shield and unshield events can't be matched by timing.
  21. Automatic note consolidation that defragments your encrypted UTXO set in the background to keep proof times and fees low.
  22. Sub-accounts or vaults splitting one identity into separate shielded buckets for savings, trading, business and spending.
  23. Auto-sweep moving idle balance above a threshold into the yield pool without a manual deposit step.
  24. Encrypted transaction memos for private bookkeeping labels, readable only by you or a viewing-key holder.
  25. Client-side portfolio dashboard that decrypts locally in the browser, so the server never sees your positions.
  26. Private tax and accounting export generated locally from a viewing key, as CSV or PDF.
  27. Fiat on and off ramps through licensed providers with identity separation, so KYC records never link to on-chain activity.
  28. Gas sponsorship via paymaster, so a user can transact without ever holding the chain's gas token.
  29. Per-card and per-device spending limits, freeze and instant kill switch.
  30. Social recovery with guardians, plus passkey and hardware wallet support, so a lost device doesn't mean a lost account.

Competitors

Same chain, overlapping surface

  1. Privacy Hoodprivacyhood.org
Live. Shielded pool, stealth addresses, gasless relayers for USDG and stock tokens on RHC. Closest competitor. Overlaps utilities 7, 16 and 28. No yield, no card, no payroll, no disclosure layer. A private transfer tool, not an account.

  2. VeiledHoodveiledhood.com
Site has no content. Pre-launch or name-squat. Unassessable, but the name is taken.

  3. VEIL, Confidential DePIN Data Networkveilhood.com
Adjacent category, not banking. Relevant as evidence that veil and hood naming is crowded on RHC.

Same category, other chains

  1. Veilpayveilpayapp.com
Private by default, multi-chain by design. Closest naming and positioning overlap outside RHC. Private payments, not a full account layer. No yield or payroll surface disclosed.

  2. Havenhaven.hn
Privacy neobank on Ethereum, Starknet and Base. Private transfers, Visa card, Privacy Pools, 184 countries, no token. Closest thing to Noirpay anywhere, but not on RHC and no stock-token or yield support.

  3. GhostPay and GHOST Privacyweb3.bitget.com/crypto-news/ghostpay-protocol-launch-privacy-preserving-payments-hit-the-on-chain-market
Privacy-preserving payment protocol with its own token. Payments-only scope.

Card layer only

  1. RobinCardrobincard.dev
  2. RobinCardsrobincards.tech
  3. Robincardsrobincards.xyz
A cluster of near-identical card projects, one marketing a no-KYC Mastercard. Treat as a copycat cluster rather than serious competition. The no-KYC model is legally fragile and issuers tend to pull it. Signal that the card surface is already being grabbed.

Off-chain incumbent

  1. Robinhood Bankingbankingdive.com/news/robinhood-to-launch-banking-product-deepak-rao/744277
Robinhood's own checking and savings with Coastal Community Bank. TradFi product in the app, not on RHC, US and Gold-gated, structurally unable to offer privacy. Strategic watch item, not a competitor.
