FAQ
Short answers to the questions that come up first.
Is Noirpay a mixer?
No. A mixer takes coins in and gives unlinked coins out. Noirpay is an account: a balance that stays in the pool, earns yield, spends on a card and pays people, with screening at the pool boundary and disclosure you control. See How it works.
Is it live?
Not yet. Nothing is deployed on Robinhood Chain and the $NOIR contract does not exist. Get early access.
Can Noirpay see my balance?
No. Notes are decrypted in your browser. See What Noirpay sees.
Can Noirpay freeze or move my funds?
No. Noirpay holds no spending key. It can refuse a deposit or a withdrawal at the pool edge on screening grounds; it cannot touch what is inside.
What if I lose my phone?
Recover through your guardians. See Keys and recovery.
How does the card work if my money is hidden?
The card settles from shielded balance at the pool level; on-chain, the pool settles a batch to the card programme. See The card.
Where does the yield come from?
From Robinhood Chain yield venues the pool routes into, credited pro-rata per note. It is a target, not a promise. See Private yield.
Do I need $NOIR?
No. Every feature works without it. $NOIR only steps fees down. See $NOIR.
Is $NOIR staking or an airdrop coming?
No staking, no emissions. Anything claiming otherwise is not from Noirpay.
How do I show my accountant my transactions?
Issue a viewing key scoped to the tax year. See Viewing keys.
